This was cleaned by a "National" vendor who subcontracted it out to another "National" vendor. When confronted, they claimed they clearly said on their report "Horizontal ductwork not applicable" "vertical ductwork not applicable", "fans cleaned 0/1". They also said they need the customer to install additional access plates. Of course the FM nor restaurant management was never informed. Same company has been cleaning and "certifying" the systems were properly "cleaned" since at least 2019. Imagine the catastrophic results of a fire with this massive amount of grease buildup(Also known as biodiesel) in these areas that the inspector or the FM could not see. These companies had picture protocols in place, but when these were looked at, it became clear to the FM that the almost 100 pictures only showed the hood and kitchen areas. There were no pictures of the cage fans on the roof nor any of the horizontal ductwork. Below are pictures showing how easy it was to install proper UL listed access door to reach these previously "inaccessible" areas and what was found in those areas. Also showing what the cleaning company had to do to remove the years of massive cured on grease buildup. And some after pictures of the previously "inaccessible" areas showing it finally properly cleaned.
