The new direct drive fans with open motors no longer have belts to maintain. Technicians no longer check under the fan motor housing which can lead to numerous other issues. Make sure to have your technicians check and clean the fan motors as the air intakes must be cleaned regularly to avoid overheating. We bring a small portable vacuum for this task. We recommend only ordering enclosed motors (TEFC) for the direct drive fans (actually all fans) as the open motors can allow moisture, dirt, grease, and cleaning wastewater to enter the motors. Also move the new VFD motor controls to an inside location away from the fans and weather.
